EDM 790

The EDM 790 is a compact and affordable color LCD instrument designed for twin-engine aircraft. TSO certified, it provides continuous monitoring of 29 engine parameters with an accuracy of less than 0.1% or 2°F. It operates in the background, instantly alerting you if any parameter exceeds the limits. Easy to program with just two buttons, it offers simple management of settings, including the LeanFind™ procedure for optimizing mixture.

Fly your twin-engine aircraft with the vibrant color LCD display of our EDM790. Affordable and compact, this type of EDM offers advisory The EDM 790 offers numerous options to customize exactly what you need. Its offset round rear processor allows for easy horizontal installation in any panel. The Engine Data Management 790 system is the most advanced and precise piston engine monitoring instrument for twin-engine aircraft on the market. TSO certified for quality, the EDM 790 is not just another black box. It’s a flight engineer and a maintenance manager. At this price, nothing comes close. You can almost consider the EDM 790 as your personal flight engineer. It’s always there, running in the background, constantly monitoring your engine while you focus on flying the aircraft. You can complete an entire flight without ever pressing a button if you choose. However, your EDM will monitor your engine parameters three times per second and will instantly alert you if any parameter exceeds the programmed limit.

Precision Diagnostics :

Accuracy and resolution are two terms often misunderstood in the field of instruments. Just because an instrument displays in 1-degree increments (resolution) does not mean it is accurate to 1 degree. JPI's accuracy comes from its linearized thermocouples. Other instruments use an estimation method of a straight line through the center of the thermocouple's "S" calibration curve. With this method, the instrument is only accurate at the three points where the straight line crosses the "S" curve. Therefore, errors of +/- 10 ° are possible while displaying a 1-degree resolution. Our competitors claim an accuracy of +/- 1/2 ° across the full scale, which means +/- 1/2 ° of 2000 ° (full scale) equals +/- 10 °, a significant difference. JPI has found no comparable product on the aviation market in terms of linearized accuracy.

Accuracy :

Using the latest microprocessor technology, the EDM monitors up to twenty-four critical engine parameters, four times per second, with a linearized thermocouple accuracy of less than 0.1% or 2°F, validated and tested by the FAA and therefore TSO (Technical Standard Order) certified. The EDM continuously checks in real-time the 29 critical parameters (not just 16), which are automatically monitored FOUR TIMES PER SECOND, regardless of the current display status.

Simplicity :

Two buttons are all you need to manage all the programming functions of the EDM. Mixture adjustment is quick and automatic with the LeanFind™ procedure. With the EDM, it’s now possible to have much more diagnostic information available in a quick and actionable format.
