The skySensor, for experimental and certified aircraft, is the final piece of a complete skyBeacon installation. The skySensor is not only a cosmetic match for your right wing, it also includes a dual-band ADS-B receiver, a static pressure sensor and an internal GPS. It allows for easy reception of traffic and weather information via Wi-Fi to EFB applications compatible with the GDL90 protocol.
The skySensor captures dual-band ADS-B traffic and subscription-free in-flight weather information on both 978 MHz and 1090 MHz frequencies, and provides real-time aircraft positions and weather overlays to your favorite EFB app that supports the GDL 90 protocol, such as ForeFlight Mobile, FltPlan Go, FlyQ, Wing X, and more.
The GPS and barometric altimeter provide the EFB with barometric position and altitude data, used for accurate representations of the relative positions and altitudes of surrounding aircraft.
The skySensor features an extremely efficient LED position light in aviation green, with a power consumption of approximately one-eighth that of a traditional incandescent lamp, including for GPS, ADS-B In and Wi-Fi.
